flowers

After Saturday's graduation (and all the socializing that week),
our cupboards were as bare as Old Mother Hubbard's.
Our family went down to the valley to restock on Sunday.

We were in the Costco check-out when the clerk goes to Erik,
"Hey, it's Mother's Day... don't you want to buy the lady some flowers?"

Erik's not one to be motivated by guilt,
and we aren't ones who need an external reminder to celebrate each other.

We are deeply grateful, humbled, and ecstatic to God for each day that He has given us each other.

So, hugging my man, I looked at the clerk and pointed to my children:
"He gives me these flowers every day."
